What is the Windows Experience Index?

Windows Experience Index tells you how good is your machine configuration to run the given product. According to this the features will function in your system... The capability of your machine is rated as "Base Score". A higher base score generally means that your computer will perform better and faster than a computer with a lower base score, especially when performing more advanced and resource-intensive tasks.

How to View it?

->Click to open Performance Information and Tools available in Control Panel.
Here are general descriptions of the experience you can expect from a computer that receives the following base scores:
A computer with a base score of 1 or 2 usually has sufficient performance to do most general computing tasks, such as run office productivity programs and search the Internet. However, a computer with this base score is generally not powerful enough to run Windows Aero, or the advanced multimedia experiences that are available with Windows 7.
A computer with a base score of 3 can run Windows Aero and many features of Windows 7 at a basic level. Some of the Windows 7 advanced features might not have all of their functionality available. For example, a computer with a base score of 3 can display the Windows 7 theme at a resolution of 1280 × 1024, but might struggle to run the theme on multiple monitors. Or, it can play digital TV content but might struggle to play high-definition television (HDTV) content.
A computer with a base score of 4 or 5 can run all features of Windows 7 with full functionality, and it can support high-end, graphics-intensive experiences, such as multiplayer and 3‑D gaming and recording and playback of HDTV content. Computers with a base score of 5 were the highest performing computers available when Windows 7 was released.

Microsoft IE8 brings you inprivate browsing

Now we could browse whatever we want whether it is mails, shop or any unautorised site ;) without getting tensed of someone knowing what we have browsed. Windows IE 8 brings to you inPrivate browsing that will not leave any trail of what we have browsed.

You can start InPrivate Browsing by opening a new tab and selecting Browse with InPrivate or selecting it from the Safety button on the top right corner of the browser window. Once you complete this action, Internet Explorer 8 will launch a new browser session that won't record any information, including searches or webpage visits. To end your InPrivate Browsing session, simply close the browser window.
